ABOUT SHARON DAWN
Empowerment Author
Sharon Dawn is the visionary author and artist behind the Rainbow Vision Journals, a series of guided journals with prompts, designed to empower women to rediscover their joy, freedom, and true selves. Combining her passion for personal growth, creativity, and her own life experiences, Sharon has created a transformative system that helps women find, accept, and be the unique individuals they truly are.
As a survivor of childhood abuse and domestic violence, Sharon has overcome immense challenges to build a life of authenticity and happiness. Her journey began in 1995, when she escaped to Australia with her two children and only $500, vowing to live life on her own terms.
Since then, she has followed her heart, discovering her passions for tourism, real estate, painting, teaching and nomadic travelling. Her experiences have shaped her belief that lasting happiness comes from within and that we all have the power to be happy and create the life we desire.
The concept for the Rainbow Vision Journals came to Sharon in a moment of clarity, combining her love of art and journaling with her deep understanding of personal growth. Inspired by her son’s resilience after becoming a paraplegic and her studies on the power of thought and manifesting reality, Sharon developed the journals to help women release their past, focus on the future, and embrace their authentic unique selves.
“The Rainbow Vision Journals are my way of sharing what I have learned so you too, can follow your heart and do what makes your heart sing,” Sharon explains.
In June 2021, Sharon had to put the Journals on hold when she discovered a small lump in her breast. In 6 weeks that lump was the size of a golf ball, with a very aggressive cancer, so within 3 months she had a mastectomy. She spent the next 12 months working with a nutritionist and a naturopath to try to keep herself cancer free. Unfortunately, a year later, when she thought she was in the clear, she got severe pain in her legs and could hardly walk. Thinking she had only put her back out; she went to an osteopath who told her to get to the hospital. The results of a CT scan showed that the cancer had eaten holes in her ribs and every vertebra in her back and neck, so she couldn't walk because her back was crumbling. She was advised if she didn't have radiation immediately, she would be in a wheelchair in a matter of weeks as one vertebra had already collapse.
As the cancer was so aggressive, she was put on Chemotherapy every 3 weeks and told she would only live for another 6-12 months. That was over two and a half years ago. Sharon is still on chemo and her cancer is stable due to her diet, walking routine and general positive attitude for life. "I'm not ready to go yet, I still have too much to do," is Sharon's message. She is now back promoting her journals because this is what makes her heart sing.
"I am really glad I have learnt to love and accept myself for who I am inside and not what I look like on the outside. I aged 10 years in 6 months and without that self-love and acceptance, this cancer journey would have been so much harder," says Sharon.
Through the Rainbow Vision Journals, Sharon provides a safe and creative space for women to explore self-awareness, self-expression, and self-love because women are notorious at putting everyone else first, but it's now time to put yourself first. "I love the idea, happy mum, happy family (no matter how old the kids are). We owe it to ourselves and to them to be happy."
"What I love most about these journals is I get to watch women come out of their shell. I see them gain self-esteem and confidence to start doing things that make them happy. I see them learn to accept themselves for who they truly are and then I get to watch them blossom into the FABuLous person they are meant to be, and that makes my heart sing."
Sharon’s mission is to inspire women to step out of their comfort zones, learn to follow their heart, love and embrace their uniqueness, and create happy, fulfilling lives.
